Home Mortgage

Many people have lost their jobs and aren’t able to pay their mortgage. Currently no foreclosures are taking place in Florida, but that will likely end in June. If you don’t have the money — you don’t have the money, but you still have options and need to be proactive.

The first thing to do is call your mortgage company and ask them what your options are.  This article describes many of the major lenders, but all lenders have options for people now. You may be able to delay your payment for a few months, though unfortunately you may have to repay the skipped payments at the end. But the crisis is ongoing and things are changing daily.

While the current situation can be overwhelming, you can’t stick your head in the sand like an ostrich. I had a client last week who was having trouble getting through to their bank. Since I’ve worked with many banks and know my way around their organizations, I knew who to call to get a six month forbearance approved immediately. My client will now have peace of mind about her mortgage until autumn, allowing her to plan for the future better.
